There may be times when emergencies, such as severe weather, fires, power failures, or earthquakes, disrupt normal business operations at PDQ. We may even have to close a work facility.
If we decide to close AFTER the workday has already started, your supervisor will officially notify you. You will be paid for the time off. If we decide to close BEFORE the workday starts, you will not be paid for the time off. However, you may request to use any available paid time off you have, such as vacation or personal time.
If an emergency closing is not authorized, employees should make a reasonable effort to report to work on time.
As a general guide for attending work during inclement weather, if schools are being CLOSED, an employee may arrive at work within 2 hours of his/her scheduled start time and have the tardy EXCUSED. If school districts are reporting DELAYS due to inclement weather, employees are expected to attend work during his/her scheduled shift.
