Safety

SAFETY

Safety is our first and foremost concern in all of the areas of the working environment. Respect all safety guards, devices, notices and follow all safety practices at all times.

NEVER, under any circumstances, remove or alter safety guards, devices or notices on any machines or mechanical devices.

Always verify safety guards and devices are in place and working properly.

If you are in doubt or have questions about the safety guards, devices or notices, notify your supervisor immediately.

If, at any time, you observe someone violating safety guards, devices or practices, alert the person in violation immediately and notify your supervisor to review proper safety with the person to insure safety practices are being respected, followed and observed.

Employees must wear eye protection (safety glasses) at all times while on the PRODUCTION FLOOR and in the SHOP AREA. The only areas where you are not required to wear safety glasses are in Receiving, Shipping, Lunchroom and Main Office area.

Employees must wear ear protection while in the SHOP area, if the duration of the stay will be longer than 10 minutes.

Employees must wear a dust mask while doing any type of belt sanding or spray painting.

Employees working around machinery and forklifts are not permitted to wear headphones.

The First Aid Kit is located on the wall prior to entering the production area.

The fire extinguishers are located in identified designated areas around the plant floor.

Employees are responsible to keep their respective areas clean and free of debris. Normal clean up time takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete and should be done at the end of the shift.

Safety shoes must be worn by all material handlers. The company will reimburse the employee up to $35 once a year with a receipt.
